Get to Know Daniel MacLean

Daniel MacLean

Daniel’s introduction to investing came by accident. When one of his schoolteachers’ textbooks failed to arrive on time, he came up with the idea to have his students come up with a mock stock portfolio to fill the time. Daniel took to it immediately, and knew from then on that this was how he wanted to make his career.

Daniel received a BS degree with a double major in finance and marketing from Florida State, holds a CFP designation, and is a CFA Level II candidate. He has been active in the financial sector since 2007 with a number of respected institutions, including Morgan Stanley, Ameriprise, and Fidelity; during this period his accomplishments included working with hundreds of families to achieve their financial goal, grew to manage over $85 million directly, and achieved the title of Associate Vice President.

Daniel made the move to Harwood’s team to more effectively serve clients. His passion is for seeing his clients realize their goals of sending their kids to college and living their ideal retirement, all of which he finds much easier to achieve when he isn’t bogged down by one company’s proprietary products and goals. In keeping with this dedication to maximizing clients’ options, Daniel maintains Series 6, 7, and 66 licenses as well.

Outside the office, Daniel likes to stay physically active, and can regularly be found on the golf course. He likes to travel and makes it a point to visit at least one new place every year. He is also a Master Mason, and an active participant in Egypt Shrine – attend a few parades, and you may spot Daniel driving a tiny car while wearing a fez!
